Neuropsychologist POV: Stop confusing cause and effect
Stop confusing cause and effect.
When the Founding Fathers created the United States, they did not believe in a life that contained this system of government. Rather, they believed life into it.
In other words, they took their neurologic energy—their ideas, their emotions, their actions, the zing-zing-zap-zaps deep within the dark recesses of their brain—and made manifest a system of government that transformed the world order.
Your brain's 5 senses are extraordinary things. But like all gadgets on any machine, you gotta know which lever to pull when. If you believe that reality is transformed by what you first see, taste, or hear, you are confusing cause and effect. The science of transformation requires us to believe in what we do not yet see.
To achieve this, you must train your brain—just like you train your muscles—for power.
When times are uncertain, when things feel chaotic and unclear, the most powerful thing you can do is pay attention to your own brain and your own emotional energy. Not because this is a vapid lesson on positive thinking, but because this is a neuroscientific reality.
Your brain is not an organ of consumption. It is an organ of creation.
It's wild that people think this is wild.
You need to look no further than your own life to know this is true. All day long, every single day, your brain is sending electrical impulses at speeds up to 260 miles that construct your reality. From this complex interplay between electrical, chemical, and magnetic energies, you then meet the material world. The internal precedes the external. Everything you can point to in the physical world—every conversation, every business, every relationship—had to first originate as a zap of electricity in the gelatinous three-pound blob inside your skull. If it were a science fiction movie, you wouldn’t even believe it!
Right now, there are a lot of people swirling in a lot of painful things: confusion, fear, anxiety, uncertainty, and anger. What the world needs now, more than anything, is people who are emotionally sturdy in the face of external uncertainty. People who are powerful enough to hold the vision of what could be while plenty of people are collapsing around what they imagine can’t be.
It is essential that—if you think that you have something to offer the world—you first harness the energy in your own nervous system. These days, it's more important than ever to think wisely about how you desire to operate the most extraordinary machine you'll ever own.
To learn more about how to do this, I hope you’ll consider these 2 opportunities.

Join me for The Age of Energy. We start next Monday, 01/27. Scholarships available for those who qualify. Reach out with questions.
Starting January 27, we begin The Age of Energy. The world order is changing. The Age of Energy is a yearlong program that is dedicated to creating a new type of leader—leaders who aren’t just emotionally intelligent, but who are emotionally extraordinary.
The Age of Energy targets 3 main areas of your life
Your relationship of with yourself—This component of the program, called Formation, answers the question: How do I build an identity that is powerful enough to no longer need chronic validation, certainty, permission or approval? (Formation runs January - February 2025.
Your relationship with other people, particularly people who challenge you—This component of the program, called Connection, answers the question: What does your brain need to feel confident, connected and safe in your relationships—even with people who have historically triggered you? (Connection runs April 2025)
Your work—The human brain is an organ of creation. It is constantly creating your reality—conversations, dreams, projects, relationships, jobs, books, and more. This component of the program, called Creation, answers the question: How do I build power, confidence, and energy in my creative leadership? (Creation runs September 2025).
In the months there is no program, we meet as a community for a mastermind. The fastest way to evolve is to connect with other people committed to doing it, too. People do not change in isolation; they only change in relationship.
For more on the individual programs, check out https://drjuliadigangi.com/the-age-of-energy/ toward the bottom of the page.
If you’re curious, reach out. I’m happy to talk with you and answer any questions. We’ll be spending the year together, so I look forward to getting to know you. Scholarships apply.
